GERALD MICHAEL DEAREY
September 14, 1960 ˜ April 8, 2023

Gerald M. Dearey, also known as Gerry, who was a lifelong resident of Vancouver, WA, passed away at the age of 62 on April 8, 2023 in the loving arms of his wife. He was born on Sept. 14, 1960. Gerry was a loving, generous, proud, hard-working, funny, and kind person. He loved spending time with his family, playing golf and darts, bowling, researching the history of Vancouver, going on road trips, and visiting Cancun. In addition to his hobbies, Gerry was also the primary caregiver for his wife, who has Multiple Sclerosis.

Gerry worked for the Hertz Corporation for 28 years, where he met his wife, Lisa Salvino Dearey through mutual friend, Debbie Emter, to whom he was married to for nearly 26 years. He is survived by Lisa; their children, Thea Dearey and Ben (Jaclyn) Mawson; brothers, Tom (Mary) Dearey, John Dearey, Paul (Gertie) Dearey; sisters, Cathy (Bruce) Miller, Mary Lou (Jaime) Cardona; father-in-law, Larry Salvino; brothers-in-law, Mike (Melanie) Salvino, Steve (Jennifer) Salvino; sister-in-law, Terri Salvino; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Luella Dearey; mother-in-law, Mary Salvino; sisters-in-law, Sandy Dearey and Gina Salvino; nephew, Mike Miller; and great-niece, Lindsey Maxwell.

Gerry attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Class of 1975, and Evergreen High School, Class of 1979. He worshipped at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. John’s Catholic Church.

A ceremony to celebrate Gerry’s life will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 12:30 p.m.
