Gerald Dindia Obituary

Gerald (Jerry) Dindia entered eternal rest, peacefully surrounded by family on November 13th, 2025 at the age of 86.
Jerry was born into a family of Sicilian immigrants and from them he learned the importance of faith, family, food and hard work. He spent his childhood in Ladd's addition and attended St. Phillip Neri Catholic School. He entered into the family produce business at a young age where he worked with his father at Pioneer Fruit before finding his own craft as a skilled builder and business owner.
Jerry had a successful career as an entrepreneur. He opened a body shop to build and repair cars and later built real estate. However, his true pride was in his family. He dedicated his life to his family and had a remarkable ability in giving the gift of time. He incorporated his children and grandchildren into every aspect of his life; both work and play. He kept his loved ones close by teaching them all the trades in which he was skilled. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, woodworking, metal working and could make art out of any material he had. He remained an avid skier for almost the entirety of his life and he loved to travel.
Jerry is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Mark (Lynne), Matt (Jayme), Luanne (Jim), Lynelle (Jason), and Larry, as well as four step-children he loved as his own, seventeen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Marguerite and August, his siblings Helen and Don, and his grandson Anthony.
A mass will begin at 11:00 on Saturday December 13th at St. Phillip Neri Parish
2408 SE 16th Ave, Portland, OR 97214
