Gerald Elkins Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" Thomas Elkins, age 83 of Rocky Mount, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025. Jerry was born March 31, 1941 to the late Rudolph and Ersell Miller Elkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Gene, Charles, Bobby, Leo (Frances) Elkins; sisters Dorothy Thomas (Russell), Marie Collins (Bob), Patty Whitt, and Penny Dooley,
Surviving is his loving wife of over 61 years Betty Mitchell Elkins; sister Vickie McPherson (Ed Booth); sister-in-law Shirley Elkins; brother-in-law Harold Dooley; also several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
His family would like to thank caregivers Neil Hudson, Susie White, Connie Hodges and Carilion Hospice for their love and care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alan Cogar officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place, Dr., Rocky Mount.
