Gerald J. "Jerry" Micho

1939 - 2025

Gerald 'Jerry' J. Micho, 86, of Ludington, MI and Anna Maria Island, FL, passed away on October 18, 2025. Born on August 15, 1939, in Bay City MI. He was a devoted husband to Eileen and a loving father to Mark and Faith Micho and Julie and George Bera. Jerry and Eileen recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Jerry was hard-working and dedicated. He spent years working in the lumber business, the past 38 years was spent starting and growing his current business with Mark, GM Wood Products, in Newaygo, MI. Despite his many responsibilities, his family was his #1 passion. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Jerry's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed boating, fishing and sporting events. He was a 2-time state wrestling champion at Bay City Handy High School. His love for woodworking was something he shared with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, leaving behind beautiful keepsakes.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Joel Bera, Luke (Kendall) Bera, Brian Bera, MacKenzie (Matt) Rose, Brenden Micho and Madison (Drew) Dow, Great Grandchildren Shepherd Rose and Daxton Dow, and another boy due in February. Also surviving is his brother Kirby Micho, and sister Janice Nielson, sisters-in-law Judy Micho and Rachael Micho, along with many nieces and nephews. As well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred and father Arthur, brothers, Arthur, Gary, Wilfred and sister Shirley Hill. Nephews, Jay Micho and Fred Micho.

There will be a time of visitation with the family from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N Monroe St., Rockford, MI 49341.

The funeral Service for Jerry will be 11:00 am Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Pederson Funeral Home, with a visitation time one hour prior to the service.
