Coach Kapusta was our PE teacher at Croton Elementary School when I was in 5th grade. I remember vividly him teaching us dances with rhythm sticks. And I remember him telling us about asking his girlfriend to get married. I don´t know if he really did this but he told us he put the ring in her dessert. That has stuck with me for more than 50 years. He was everyone´s favorite and I was sad when he left Melbourne in 1973. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Jerry and I taught p.e. at Croton Elementary in Melbourne, Florida. He was a very good role model for the children who were not used to having a man teacher.
Jerry was big in size and demanding as a football coach at EGHS, but he had a gentle side with the younger students.
I am sending hugs to Marcia and the kids as you begin this journey of missing Jerry.
