Gerald Manuel Obituary
EUNICE~It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gerald J. Manuel on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette at the age of 75. A Celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:00 am at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Louis Cemetery with Father Nick Ware officiating.
Gerald was born in Eunice to Dewey Manuel and Zilda Brown. He dedicated over thirty years to the City of Eunice Gas Department. He was an avid gun collector who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Despite his love for the outdoors, the love he had for his family and especially his grandchildren can never be surpassed. Gerald will be missed by all who knew and loved him especially his sons, Heath P. Manuel and wife, Kristin of Fort Worth, TX, Vance J. Manuel of Eunice, and Josh K. Manuel and wife, Rachell of Eunice; his siblings, Alvin Manuel and wife, Vicki of Eunice, and Cheryl Soronen and husband, Hugh of Eunice; eight grandchildren, Kevin Manuel, Krislyn Manuel, Logan Manuel, Zakk Manuel, Wyatt Manuel, Gracelyn Manuel, Jon-Riley Manuel, and Jace Manuel; six great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dewey Manuel, Jr. and Douglas Manuel; and sisters, Elrena Bollich and Deanna Hidalgo.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday evening.
