Gerald R. Mauch, 79, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 7 at his residence in Zionsville. He was a longtime Zionsville resident.He was born July 10, 1938 in Chicago, IL to John and Marie (Schmitz) Mauch.? He married Barbara Surso on November 25, 1961 in Indianapolis.? She survives.? Survivors include four children , Laura (Kevin) Starkey of Whitestown, Stephen Mauch of Zionsville, Susan Mauch of Zionsville, and Timothy (Anne Marie Clevenger) Mauch of Holland, MI;? two brothers and two sisters , Donald (Florence) Mauch of Ft. Wayne,? Carol Mauch of Ft. Wayne, Marlene (Dale) Scherman of Ft. Wayne and John (Connie) Mauch of Indianapolis; one grandson, Matthew (Samantha Sanders) Starkey ; one great grandson, Finlay Starkey; and many nieces and nephews.Gerald was a long time Certified Public Accountant in Zionsville.His volunteer activities had quite an impact on the area, including the Zionsville Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow.? He was a former "Man of the Year", awarded by the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, assisted with the Lincoln Park Concert Series, and the Little League.? He was also a Volunteer at Conner Prairie in Noblesville.? He was an active member of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church.Calling hours will take place from 11-1PM, Thursday January 18, with a funeral mass to follow at 1PM at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak Street, Zionsville.Memorial contribution are suggested to the Zionsville Fire and Ambulance Services, 1100 W. Oak Street, Zionsville, IN 46077 or St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W.
