Gerald T. Olson Jr., (Jerry) an accomplished American film producer, passed away on February 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and collaboration in the film industry. Jerry was born in San Francisco. He attended Mt. Eden High School, then earned a B.A. in film from SF State. Over a distinguished career spanning five decades, Jerry contributed to a wide range of beloved and influential films from Rock N Roll High School (1979), Repo Man (1984), Nightmare on ElmStreet (1984,1987), House Party (1990), Dumb and Dumber (1994), The Rundown(2003) to Outlaw Posse (2024). His versatility and depth of knowledge earned him the respect of colleagues across genres and decades.

He is remembered not only for the films he helped bring to life but for his generosity, professionalism, and mentorship to countless students and collaborators.

Jerry is survived by his wife Darcee, their children Alexander, Theodore, Geoffrey and Anna, and his siblings, Kathy Groves (Michael), John Olson (Susan) and Carol Love (Steve). He also leaves behind many dear friends and colleagues who will continue to celebrate his work and legacy.
