Gerald E. "Gerry" Paugel Jr.

Gerald "Gerry" E. Paugel, Jr., age 64, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Tomahawk Health Services in Tomahawk, WI. Gerry was born in Woodruff, WI, on June 26, 1961, to the late Gerald and Ruth (Heitpas) Paugel, Sr.
Gerry grew up in Lake Tomahawk, WI, and later moved to Rhinelander, WI, where he raised his family. He proudly served in the United States Army. An avid outdoorsman, Gerry loved hunting, fishing, camping, and boating, and he was rarely idle, always working on a project, building or fixing something. He enjoyed watching football and, true to his nature, never met a stranger, becoming fast friends with everyone he encountered. Above all, Gerry was most proud of being a "grampa"; his face lit up whenever he saw his grandchildren or spoke about them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his son, Tyler Paugel; and his daughters, Bobby Jo (Bryan) Lundberg and Nicole (Thomas) Zoncki. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Tripp, Pyxiana, Aurora, Finneas, and Sebastian. He also leaves behind his "best friend", his dog, Duncan. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Ruth.
In accordance with wishes, no formal services will be held. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
