Gerald Perlmutter Obituary
On Sunday, January 25, 2026, Gerald Perlmutter, husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 80.
Gerald (Gerry) was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to Harry and Sarah Perlmutter. He received his engineering degree from Lowell Tech (University of Massachusetts at Lowell).
On June 1, 1969, Gerry married the love of his life, Carol Ann Levine. They raised two children, Jeffrey and Lisa in San Diego County.
Gerry led life to the fullest with an unparallel inner drive. He started three successful companies and moved around the United States following his passions and new opportunities, from Boston, Washington DC, San Diego, Seattle and finally Phoenix, Arizona.
Gerry never met a new technology he didn't love and was an avid science fiction reader. He had a love of boating, sought new adventures and lived a life with no regrets.
Gerry was preceded in death by both his parents, his brother and his son. He is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Lisa, his two grandsons Noah and Jonas and his niece Dejah.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association.

Dear Carol and Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Gerry´s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
It´s clear that Gerry led an extraordinary life filled with passion, remarkable achievements, and love for his family. He touched so many lives with his drive, innovation, and adventurous spirit, leaving behind a legacy that will not be forgotten. His love for technology, science fiction, and his zest for new opportunities truly reflect a life lived to the fullest.
May you find comfort in the cherished memories of your husband, father, and grandfather, and in the love shared among your family. Please know that my thoughts are with you, and I hope you find peace and strength in the days ahead.

I just heard of Gerry's passing. Gerry was an amazing guy. He worked effortlessly to provide a tool that helped save the lives of thousands. He always had a big smile and an welcome hug or handshake. Thank you Carol for sharing his with the rest of us.
