Gerald M. "Gary" Polum Jr.

Gerald M. "Gary" Polum, Jr., age 65, of Shawano, passed away on December 28, 2022 at his home. He was born on December 29, 1956 to Evelyn (Bekowski) and the late Gerald M. Polum, Sr. in Stevens Point. Gary graduated from Stevens Point High School with the class of 1975 and went on to NWTC where he earned an associate degree. In 1983, he was united in marriage to Deborah "Debbie" Caldwell at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. He worked for WE Energies in the gas sector for thirty years before retiring in 2014. Following his retirement, Gary enjoyed traveling. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Tyler Polum and Tracy (Robert) Gosewehr; grandchildren, Riley Recore and Cashton Recore; his mother, Evelyn; and his brothers, Randall (Chong Sun) Polum, Tom (Bert) Polum and John Polum.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, Gerald M. Polum, Sr.
Private family services will be held and a Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
