Gerald Quartiero Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boies-Ortega Funeral Home on Jun. 5, 2024.
In loving memory of Gerald Quartiero, 63, of Walsenburg/Pryor, CO, who reunited with his beloved parents on May 18, 2024.
Gerald was born on August 13, 1960, in Walsenburg and spent his entire life in Huerfano County. His presence, grand and humble in stature, radiated warmth and kindness that touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He had an infectious smile, intellect beyond measure and if you were lucky enough to spend time with him, you knew his heart was bigger than his stature. Whether you were connected with him for days or for years, he left a significant impact that will never be forgotten. His passing leaves an irreplaceable hole in our hearts and souls.
As a friend and mentor, Gerald shared invaluable wisdom with his children and grandchildren, cherishing the role of "Papa Ger" as one of his greatest accomplishments. His loved ones left behind include: wife Shelley Quartiero (Fredenburg), brother Jim Quartiero (Jane), daughter Casey Brake (Tim), and son Tyler Quartiero (Nicole). He also leaves behind a legacy of love in his eight grandchildren: Darrien (Vanessa), Cody, Daimen, Sadie, Kallie, Kolten, Sofia, and Enzo and niece Shanna Armijo (David) and River. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
Gerald had a love of airplanes, fast cars, motorcycles, trucks and Peterbilts. He was an excellent fabricator and mechanic. He could fix anything. He graduated from John Mall High School in 1978. He worked for Barbacovi Motors, Walsenburg Sand & Gravel, City of Walsenburg, G&C Trucking, Melonas Trucking, Huerfano County and Spanish Peaks Medical Center. Gerald was a professional heavy hauler truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
He has been reunited in death with his parents Frank and Clara, his grandparents, aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
