Gerald Lee Thomas

Gerald Lee Thomas, 70, passed away on March 12, 2026. Family will host a visitation from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, March 17, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, March 18, in the Heartland Funeral Home Early Chapel with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Gerald was born September 10, 1955, in Brownwood, Texas, to Hillman and Dorothy Thomas. On January 3, 1978, Gerald married Ginger Minkley and they began a life together that blessed them with 2 children.

Gerald proudly served in the United States Army from 1975-1977 and was stationed in New Jersey. Later on in life he found joy in going fishing. He also had a love for ranching, and especially loved cows and horses.

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Karen Thomas of Brownwood; son, William Thomas of Brownwood; grandson, Brian Thomas (Christie) of May; grandson, Alejandro Moreno of Brownwood; grandson, Landon Moreno of Denton; sister, Hilda Foster; brother, James Thomas (Laverne); brother Ronnie Thomas (Betty); many cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gerald is preceded in death by his grandson, Brent Thomas; mother, Dorothy Thomas; father, Hillman Thomas; and brother-in-law, Harmon Foster.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asked donations to be made to Happy Horse Haven Rescue in Goldthwaite, (325)-948-3451.
