Gerald Vautrin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edwards Funeral Chapel, Inc. - Suffern on Mar. 10, 2026.
Gerald "Jerry" Vautrin

Gerald "Jerry" Vautrin passed away peacefully after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. While his loss is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, those closest to Jerry take comfort in knowing that he is finally free from the suffering he endured with such strength and dignity.

Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Debra Vautrin, and his son, Brian Vautrin. He leaves behind a family and circle of friends who meant the world to him, including his devoted daughter, Christina Vautrin-Clifford (Tim Mullins); his loving life partner, Carole Brown; and his honorary son, Christopher "Monk" Bulson. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and generosity.

A man dedicated to helping others, Jerry devoted much of his life to service. He worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, where he cared for patients with compassion and professionalism. His commitment to serving his community also included time spent in the Army National Guard and volunteering with the Stony Point Ambulance Corps. Whether in uniform, in the hospital, or simply among friends, Jerry was always ready to lend a hand to someone in need.

Those who knew Jerry will remember him as a truly helpful and selfless person-someone who would give his time, energy, and heart without hesitation. He was a great father, a loyal partner, and a dear friend to many. His sense of compassion, humor, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, Jerry's legacy lives on in the countless lives he helped, the friendships he built, and the love he shared so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I have to reply to this obituary as Jerry was such a God sent for my daughter who was battling stage 4 breast cancer and our whole family was in such dire need of mental health. Jerry knew exactly what to say and do to help us get through this horrible time. I truly believe that God sent him to us and Jerry was and is an Angel. RIP sweet man.
