Gerald “Jerry” Allen Weaver passed away on December 11, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with lung cancer. Born in Utah and raised in southern Minnesota, Jerry grew up during the height of the American Dream. He carried with him strong values, a sharp mind, and a deep appreciation for living life fully—every moment, every day.

Jerry lived an adventurous and vibrant life. He traveled across the country, explored new places, and embraced the freedom of motorcycles, speedboats, and even a yacht. He built successful businesses, enjoyed public speaking, and was known for his quick wit, generosity, and love of a good debate. Jerry lived boldly and without hesitation, always ready for the next chapter.

One of those chapters was writing. Later in life, Jerry discovered a passion for storytelling and went on to write several mystery novellas under the pen name Redmond Herring. His writing blended his life experiences, legal insight, humor, and imagination. While he never sought the spotlight, he truly enjoyed the creative process and sharing his stories with others.

Jerry found profound happiness in 2018 when he met and married Phyllis, who became a loving and devoted partner throughout his later years. Together they traveled widely—exploring new cities, scenic roads, and hidden gems across the country. Their time together was filled with companionship, adventure, and a deep, steady love that enriched both of their lives.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Phyllis Mae Ford-Weaver, who lovingly supported and cared for him throughout their life together.

Family and friends remember Jerry as a thoughtful, humorous, and compassionate man—someone who loved good conversation, supported others, and found meaning in connection and companionship. He embraced life fully, overcame challenges with determination, and never shied away from hard work.

Jerry Weaver will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered—for his adventures, his stories, and most of all, for the love he shared so freely.

O’Connell Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services have been entrusted with cremation.
