Geraldine Erma (Huck) Allen, age 93, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away, December 1, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. She was born March 27, 1932 in Evansville, IN to the late Sylvester John and Helen Marie (Stephans) Huck.
Geraldine graduated from Reitz High School in 1950. She was confirmed at the Michigan Ave. United Church of Christ and transferred her membership in 1954 to Trinity Evangelical Church in Mt. Vernon, where she took part in 4F's, Tuesday Club and many other church organizations. Geraldine worked for Indiana Bell Telephone for four years, was a devoted homemaker, and later worked at Barb's Fabrics before spending nine years at the Mt. Vernon K-Mart. She was a past member of Tri Kappa, a 25-year member of a Clabber Club, and a life member of Elks Lodge #277.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Donald M. Allen; sisters, Barbara Buchanan and Bonnie Doane; and her nephew, Eric Doane.
She is survived by her sons, Rick Allen (fiancé, Nancy Newell) and Brian Allen (Kim); grandchildren, Jason Allen (Ashley), Brooke Eaton (Brian), Brady Allen, Brianne Allen, Travis King (Jasmine), Molly Greenwell (Zach) and Lily Barthel; great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Sophie and Sawyer Allen, Benjamin and Brinley Eaton, Crew Greenwell, Briar and Everett King; and nephews.
Funeral service to be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in the Heritage Chapel at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Dr., Evansville, IN 47720 with Pastor David Schwambach officiating and entombment to follow in the Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 10:30 am service time on Saturday in the Heritage Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Church, 505 Mulberry St., Mt. Vernon, IN or NEWLIFE Rescue and Adoption, 6500 Leonard Rd., Mt. Vernon, IN.
