Geraldine Diffenbacher Obituary
Born on March 5, 1936, in Mexico, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Wilmot) Lehtonen. Gerry was a self-employed beautician, member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church, worthy matron 9 times for Woodlawn Chapter No. 164, past Mother Advisor for United Methodist Women Rainbow Girls, and was active in many bowling leagues.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Diffenbacher, who passed in 2008; two brothers, Howard and Harvellon Lehtonen; sister, Ruth Weldon; son, John R. Diffenbacher and daughter, Sandra J. Garman.
Gerry is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth (Joe) Tress, of Brighton Township; son-in-law, Paul Garman, of South Beaver Township; grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Diffenbacher, Kasey Diffenbacher, Erin (Glen) Sovich, Stephanie (Michael) Stuck, Emily (Mathew) Dunning, Nicole (Michael) Scott, Anthony (Shannon) Tress; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson on the way; brother, Carl (Barbara) Lehtonen, of Mexico, New York; sister-in-law, Janet Lehtonen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 16th from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM at CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC - 3801 4TH Avenue, College Hill, where service will be conducted Saturday at 11AM.
An Eastern Star service will be held Friday at 7:30 PM.
Online condolences may be shared at www.corlessfuneralhomes.com. Entombment will take place in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gerry's name to the Chippewa United Methodist Church or the Order of the Eastern Star.
