Geraldine Prudenti Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruland Funeral Home, Inc. - Patchogue on Dec. 18, 2025.
Geraldine Carmel Prudenti, known affectionately to her friends and family as Geri, passed away peacefully on the 18th of December, 2025, at the age of 86 in Patchogue, embracing the faith that had so beautifully guided her life. Geri was a loving matriarch, born on July 14, 1939, in Long Island City, to parents who instilled in her the values of kindness and devotion that would become the hallmarks of her existence.
As the loving wife of the late Anthony James Prudenti, affectionately known as Skippy, Geri was a cornerstone of warmth and caring in their close-knit family. She treasured her role as a mother, guiding her children Lisa Nau (Kurt), Janice Pagano (Ken), the late Diane McNierney (Jim), James (Ann Marie), and Anthony (Paula) with a gentle hand and a heart full of love. Geri's legacy extended to her 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, whom she adored with every fiber of her being.
In her earlier years, Geri embraced the joys and duties of homemaking with an unparalleled enthusiasm, creating a nurturing environment for her young children. As life progressed, she supported her husband in the family enterprise, Skippy's restaurant, by infusing it with her signature grace and hospitality. Following the sale of the business, Geri continued her professional journey in the insurance industry, where she fostered both professional relationships and personal friendships that she held dear until her last days.
A devout Christian, Geri's faith was the compass by which she navigated life's trials and triumphs. Her faith-filled spirit was evident to all who knew her, and her unwavering belief provided comfort and guidance not only to her but to those she encountered. Geri's presence was a reminder of life's gentle beauty and the power of unwavering faith.
Travel and exploration were passions that energized Geri, especially her love for cruises that carried her to distant ports and vibrant cultures. She also loved a good book, and a nice glass of white wine. Her hands were rarely still; Geri loved knitting, creating a tangible representation of her affection with every stitch. Above all, time spent with family and friends was her most prized pursuit, filled with laughter, stories, and the creation of cherished memories.
Those who knew Geri would speak of her with words filled with warmth: kind, loving, and generous. Her generous spirit was a beacon of light, drawing people into her orbit and leaving them better for it. Geri's ability to listen, genuinely and sincerely, made her counsel a sought-after comfort. She gave freely of herself, her time, and her love, asking for nothing in return but the happiness of those she cherished.
While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the many facets of a life well-lived, a testament to the power of love and the strength of family. Geraldine Carmel Prudenti's journey was one marked by the beauty of ordinary days made extraordinary through her presence and the brushstrokes of love she painted across the canvas of her loved ones' lives. Her spirit and legacy will continue to shine brightly within the hearts of those who were blessed to know her, a brilliant light that remains undiminished even as she has found her peace. Geri's departure from this world is tempered by the knowledge that she lived fully, loved deeply, and left a tapestry of memories that will comfort, inspire, and endure for generations to come.
