Geraldine "Gerry" Lois Stine, 101, entered into rest on September 19, 2025 in Huntersville, NC. Born March 4, 1924 in Indianapolis, IN to Bernie Byron and Floy Edna (Mink) Bartlett, Gerry graduated from Tech High School and attended classes at Indianapolis University School of Nursing.

Gerry began her career as a secretary at Herff Jones and then served for 15 years as secretary to the sales manager at Kroger Co. In 1956, Gerry married William Harold Stine, and for the next 30 years she served as bookkeeper for the couple's chain of 13 shoe stores in central Indiana.

Gerry also served as president of Alpha Theta Omega Sorority in Greenwood, IN and was a lifetime member of the Tech High School Alumni Association. After moving to Lakeland, FL in 1989, Gerry became a member of Elk Mates #1291 and later served as treasurer of both the Lakeland Senior Recreation Club and the Widows, Widowers & Singles Club for 10 years.

Gerry cherished her volunteer work in Lakeland, serving for 7 years at St. Paul Lutheran School, for 10 years at Watson Clinic's Osteoporosis Clinic, and also at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 45 years, Gerry is preceded in death by her sisters Rosalyn Cogswell and Bonnie Perry. She is survived by her daughter Gina Mammel (James); her granddaughters, Lauren Riggins (Chase), Kathryn Mammel (James Shinn, Jr.), Jennifer O'Donnell (Connor); five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

A celebration of Gerry's life will be held at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC at 4:30 pm on Monday, September 22.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Home Care & Hospice (119 W Wade St, Wadesboro, NC 28170) or to Wonder and Think, Inc. (https://givebutter.com/WATgerrystine), an emerging children's museum founded by her granddaughter.
