Geraldine Walker Obituary
Born in Islip New York and raised in Wilmington Delaware, she was the daughter of Veronica Marie Feger and William Henry Mills, Sr. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and went on to receive her nursing degree from the Delaware Hospital, School of Nursing. She received her Nurse Anesthetist degree from the Graduate Hospital School of Anesthesia in Philadelphia. She was a member of Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church.
Geraldine had a long and active career in nursing, having provided caring medical service to many patients over the years. She especially loved working in maternity and neo-natal care. She was employed at Delaware hospital when she married. She retired for several years starting in 1965 to start a family but later returned to nursing working part time as a school nurse in the AI Dupont school district and later for Hercules Incorporated into her 70's. After finally retiring for good, she continued to provide care at the Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington as a volunteer.
Geraldine had a fierce passion for living life to the fullest and enjoyed family sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, cruises, and in particular barge canal trips through France.
In addition to her late parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alexander Walker II who passed on October 2, 1981.
Geraldine is survived by her only son, Robert "Bob" Walker, III and her stepbrother, William "Bill" Mills.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services
Services are private and held at the convenience of the family per Geraldine 's final wishes. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Geraldine's honor to the SPCA of Anne Arundle Co. MD

to the family of Gerry: Bill and I met your mom playing dominoes at the Englers when they lived in DE. We were always amazed how well she was able to be independent and always cheerful no matter what the circumstances were. I am so glad she is out of pain and at peace. Joan Meadows and Bill Derry

What a wonderful person. She will be remembered always by her friends in our sailing club.
My heartfelt condolences to Bob who I remember meeting when he sailed with her when I brought Geraldine into a club raft.
She sailed with Barbara Billek and I on Small Favors almost every year and was always a pleasure to have on board. She loved sailing.
