Geraldyne May Herbster

King City, MO: Geraldyne May Herbster, 95, King City, MO passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at a Stanberry, MO nursing home.

She was born on May 31, 1930, in Empire Prairie, Missouri, the daughter of Perry and Flossie (Tunnell) Brown.

On June 29, 1952, she married Kenneth Herbster. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2014.

Geraldyne graduated from King City High School in 1948 and then attended William Woods College graduating in 1950 with a degree in Accounting and Bookkeeping. Following college, she worked for two years at the King City Creamery and then about five years clerking for Glen Guest at his Empire Prairie Sale Barn. In 1972, she took a job at King City Lumber bookkeeping and worked there for 34 years until she retired.

Geraldyne loved music and shared her talents with everyone and many places such as hospitals, nursing homes, churches, funerals, and weddings. She loved flowers and working at the greenhouse. At the nursing home, she and Marian Goforth shared their love of flowers. She loved sending cards to the kids at holidays. She was a Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan and she loved travelling, especially to Florida. In later years, she enjoyed their home at the Lake of the Ozarks.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mark Bryson, and her parents.

Geraldyne is survived by her daughter, Jo Bryson, Union Star, MO; son, Steve (Tommi) Herbster, King City, MO; grandchildren, Matt (Jenn) Bryson, Luke Bryson, Mallory Herbster, Mitch (Kelsey) Herbster; great grandchildren, Macie and Camden Bryson, Leah and Laney Eiberger, Kenny Lee Herbster, Paxton and Paylor Moppin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private Family Services will be held. An open visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30 at Roberson Funeral Home, King City, MO.
