Uncle Gerry,

Being so far away from home does not soften the blow it just delays the realization. I never would have made it where I have without your help.

Dear Gerard J. Roy

Still can't believe it that you've gone to heaven. Today is a special day because we share a birthday. Same month and date. I will never forget when we showed our driver's license to each other to see our birthday date and we were surprised. We laughed loud and you said, "WOW" would you look at that. And ever since then a day like today you will always be in my heart. You are a great boss. Sure going to be miss. Hope you are celebrating your special day (your birthday) with the Angels.

Happy Birthday

I started working with Gerry in March of 1977 and worked with him until March of 1984. I still kept in touch with him over the years and we would talk on the phone, sometimes about the old days. Gerry was a really nice guy and whenever you were around him he had this infectious laugh. You couldn't help but laugh with him. He always had something nice to say and was a very caring person. I will certainly miss talking with him. He certainly went to heaven too soon, but while he was here he left some good lasting memories. I will miss you.

I've worked w/Gerry for quite sometime. He was that type of boss that was a good friend. His passing is a shock to me and everyone else who has known him. He was understanding, caring and a personable individual. I will miss him very much and never forget how short our life can be taken. May he have eternal rest and eternal peace. We will miss you.

I was one of "Gerry's kids",I never felt bad about the nickname since he hired people who may not fit into the normal description of their position. Gerry gave me a chance when no one else would and changed my family's life forever. May he find the peace in heaven he so richly deserves.

Gerry was my boss for many years. He was very kind, generous in many ways, at times funny (especially when he would talk to himself). He was our GSA family. I would always remember the time that I bought him sugar free Reese's because he tried his best not to eat sweets. So, I thought I buy him this. That was the most funniest because we didn't know that it acted like an laxative. Gerry even laughed and said no that's not the reason why I had to goto the bathroom so much. There was another time since we have 2 people in the office in their 50's. Gerry who say remember such an such and I would respond and saying no gerry that before my era. And when Gerry turned 55 I told him "Now you are the speed limit Gerry". We would always kid him and our co-worker about their ages. Gerry, was good about that, he always took care of us and even our children(s). He would be concerned especially if the a child is sick and call. But, if any of us needed him he would be there for us. Gerry, has confined in me on alot of things, I wished that he could of told me more about his health. Gerry, has given me so many different tasks to do to try too better myself. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have the position that I have now. In my eyes, Gerry was an is true gem and a special person, he was nothing like no other bosses that I have had in the past. Gerry would talk so much about fishing he loved it especially when he took Lucky with him. He would say how he caught this big one and what place they came in on. I could just keep on writing about Gerry because I have so many many memories about him. He was so very very caring and a very loving person to know and care about. We always take for granted what we have until, we all of a sudden loose them. He would do so much for everybody else but, very little for himself. He always worried about work and different other things. All in all Gerry was the best friend that I had for a boss. I will miss him so tremedously, his laughing and his voice, the smiles everything. Nothing, will replace him. Gerry is Gerry plain and simple he wasn't phoney or anything just a good straight forward friend. I will treasure the memories of him and I'm glad to of had the pleasure to of had worked with him.

Gerry, I will miss you very much.

You are a true Angel I will never forget you. May you sore high. I will say goodbye to you Gerry, just see you later!

Love,

Candy
