Elsa- Gerardo Castilla Ibarra, 64, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
Mr. Castilla was born January 7, 1962 to Mr. Antonio Castilla Santos and Mrs. Margarita Ibarra Barron in Rio Bravo Tamps, Mexico.
Mr. Castilla is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Antonio Castilla Santos and Mrs. Margarita Ibarra Barron.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Alma Castilla; his sons, Gerardo (Juliana Paez) Castilla Jr., Edgar (Jimena Lozano) Castilla, Abraham Castilla; his brother, Gustavo Castilla Ibarra; his sisters, Graciela Castilla Ibarra, Margarita Castilla Ibarra; his grandchildren, Kaelynne Castilla, Julianne Castillia, Gerardo Castilla III, Alan Castilla.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service both evening at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Heavens in Elsa. As per his wishes, Mr. Castilla will be cremated at a later date at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Crematory in Donna.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.

El Sr. Castilla nació el 7 de enero de 1962, hijo del Sr. Antonio Castilla Santos y la Sra. Margarita Ibarra Barrón en Río Bravo Tamps, México.
El señor Castilla es precedido en la muerte por sus padres, el señor Antonio Castilla Santos y la señora Margarita Ibarra Barrón.

El velatorio está programado para el jueves 29 de enero de 2026, de 14:00 a 21:00, y el viernes 30 de enero de 2026, de 14:00 a 21:00, con un servicio de oración a las 18:00 en la Funeraria Salinas de Elsa Chavens. Según sus deseos, el Sr. Castilla será incinerado posteriormente en el Crematorio Val Verde Memorial Gardens de Donna.
