Dodge City - Gerardo Andrés León González, de 20 años, falleció el 20 de octubre de 2024 en el condado de Ford. Él nacióel 30 de noviembre de 2003 en Huajuapan, Oaxaca, México, hijo de Gerardo Froylan León Castro y Catalina Virginia González Rodríguez.
Encontró consuelo en la oración y oró con frecuencia. También le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia. Le gustaba ir al gimnasio, bailar y cantar. Le encantaba la música y quería aprender a tocar la guitarra. Su banda favorita eran Los Alegres Del Barranco. A Gerardo le gustaba trabajar. Quería aprender sobre construcción y quería aprender a remodelar. También le gustaba el fútbol americano; jugó en la escuela de Comanche Middle School. Le sobreviven sus padres; hermanos, Rebecca León González (Rodolfo), Lucina Ghumm (Colten), Mireya León González (Antonio Marino), Karina León González (Carlos Figueroa) y David Jesús León González; sobrinas y sobrinos, Ulises y Sebastián Tixta, y el bebé Figueroa en camino; tíos, Isauro González, Gregorio León Castro; familia extensa, Josefino León Castro, Pedro Rodríguez Hernández, Omar León, Alfredo León Castro, Silvia León Reyna, Margarita González y Hermelinda González. Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos, Rosalía Castro Vivar, Camerino Nicolás González y Dominga Rodríguez; y un tío, Gregorio González Rodríguez.
La misa funebre se llevará a cabo en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe el jueves 31 de octubre de 2024 a la 1:00 p.m. presidido por el padre Wesley Schawe. Se sugieren donaciones a la familia a cargo de la funeraria.

Dodge City - Gerardo Andres Leon Gonzalez, 20, passed away on October 20, 2024 in Ford County. He was born on November 30, 2003 in Huajuapan, Oaxaca, Mexico, the son of Gerardo Froylan Leon Castro and Catalina Virginia Gonzalez Rodriguez.
He found solace in prayer and prayed often. He also loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed going to the gym, dancing, and singing. He loved music and wanted to learn to play guitar. His favorite band was Los Alegres Del Barranco. Gerardo liked to work. He wanted to learn about construction and wanted to learn to remodel. He also liked football; he played in school at Comanche Middle School. His favorite color was blue and his favorite foods were hamburgers and tacos. Gerardo loved to get dressed up and wear his cowboy boots.
He is survived by his parents; siblings, Rebecca Leon Gonzalez (Rodolfo), Lucina Ghumm (Colten), Mireya Leon Gonzalez (Antonio Marino), Karina Leon Gonzalez (Carlos Figueroa), and David Jesus Leon Gonzalez; nieces and nephews, Ulysses and Sebastian Tixta, and baby Figueroa on the way; uncles, Isauro Gonzalez, Gregorio Leon Castro; extended family, Josefino Leon Castro, Pedro Rodriguez Hernandez, Omar Leon, Alfredo Leon Castro, Silvia Leon Reyna, Margarita Gonzalez, y Hermelinda Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosalia Castro Vivar, Camerino Nicholas Gonzalez, y Dominga Rodriguez; y un tio, Gregorio Gonzalez Rodriguez.
Funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 1:00PM with Father Wesley Schawe presiding. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
