Gerda Eunice Bartley

Gerda Eunice Bartley, 'Mama", 77, of Hartford, and May Pen, Jamaica, beloved wife of the late Egbert Bartley for 52 years, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, (March 29, 2013 at 11:25 a.m.) surrounded by her family at her home in Silver Sands Estates, Duncans, Trelawny, Jamaica, West Indies. Born in May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica on June 10, 1935, daughter of the late Sylvester Whyte and Irene Boucher, she migrated to Hartford in 1970. She will be sadly missed by her five daughters and their spouses, Diana Wilcotte and her husband, Wilcotte Rahming, M.D. of Montgomery, AL, Sharon Bartley and her husband Louie Henry of Hartford, Sandra Flash and her husband Michael of Hartford, Phillipa Eloi and her husband Frantz of West Hartford, and Faithlyn Johnson and her husband Everton of Hartford; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; and numerous relatives and friends. A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m., at Faith Assembly of God, 846 Prospect Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends on Friday, April 19, 6-9 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor and on Saturday, April 20, 9-10 a.m., prior to the service at Faith Assembly of God. The family requests that everyone dress in cheerful colors!
