Germaine Clouse, 73, of Harbor Springs, Michigan, and formerly of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away on November 1, 2025, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Germaine was born on September 19, 1952, in Marinette, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Verna Grosse. She moved with her family to Petoskey, Michigan, in her mid-teens and graduated from Petoskey High School in 1971.
Shortly after graduation, she began a career with the Social Security Administration in Petoskey, where she dedicated herself to helping many people throughout her 42-year career before retiring.
On May 17, 1973, she married Michael Clouse. Germaine enjoyed family, camping trips, traveling, sewing, playing piano, and caring for her pets.
She was a devoted member of the Petoskey Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she generously gave her time to Community Services and served as Church Treasurer.
Germaine is survived by her husband, Michael; her sisters Kathryn Mayberry, Darlene Pethers, and Virginia Porter; her brother Darryl (Tammy) Grosse; her sisters-in-law, Vickie (Don) Heinz, and Leslie (Pat) Fowler; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Verna Grosse, and her brother-in-law, David Pethers.
Germaine will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, 11:00 AM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1404 Howard St, Petoskey, MI 49770. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adventist Community Service Center, an organization that reflects Germain's heart for serving others.
