Germaine Taylor was loved by many. She left a lasting and cherished mark on every person whose life she touched.
Germaine Taylor, born Germaine Sherrils, entered this life on April 16, 1955, to Leroy and Elizabeth Sherrils. She attended Southeast High School for several years and later earned her GED at Donnelly College, where she also became an accountant.
Germaine was the proud mother of three beautiful children. One son, Anthony Montel Sherrils, precedes her in death. She was married to Harold Eugene Taylor. Her longtime companion, Sammy Grant Day, also precedes her in death.
Germaine worked as an accountant at KU Medical Center before changing careers and entering the field of security. Her final place of employment was Swope Health Center through Securitas. She eventually chose early retirement so she could lovingly care for her mother during her illness.
Around 2015, Germaine became ill with early onset dementia, a condition that she bravely faced and which has now claimed her life. She will be truly and deeply missed.
Germaine leaves to cherish her memory her children Shere Elizabeth Taylor and spouse DeAndre T. Pruett, and Melondie Sherrils. She also leaves her grandchildren Anthony T. Sherrils, Acaida M. Hill, Romell J. Hill, Taylor Michelle Elaine Jacobs, Sire E. Taylor, and Tyriq T. Pruett. She is also survived by many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless other loved ones.
Her presence, her spirit, and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
