Gerrie Ann (Highfield) Eckler age 79 of Ripley, Ohio died January 1, 2026 at Meadowview Regional Hospital in Maysville, Kentucky. Gerrie was born on March 22, 1946 in Lewis County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Oakley and Rena (Clark) Highfield. Throughout her life, she was employed at Maysville, Ky. and Ripley Shoe Factory for over 20 years. After working at the shoe factory, she was a cook at Ripley High School for 9 years. She spent her later years as a substitute aide for various schools and as a bus monitor. Mrs. Eckler was a member of the St. Michael Church in Ripley, Ohio. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband William Clifford Eckler, and two sons, William Clifford Eckler, Jr. and Mark Kiskadden. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Eckler was survived by her seven children, Rick and Sandra Maynard of Williamsburg, Ohio, Helen Richey of Ripley, Ohio, Lori (Eckler) Chamblin of Ripley, Ohio, David and Jessica Eckler of Ripley, Ohio, Kelly and Dicky Thatcher of Mount Orab, Ohio, Sandy and Dale Bonar of Georgetown, Ohio, Billy and Diana Kiskadden of Cincinnati, Ohio, one Daughter-in-law Chandra Kiskadden of Maysville, Ky and one sister, Ruby Boone of Ash Ridge, Ohio. Mrs. Eckler was also blessed with 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Eckler also leaves behind many friends, including her dear friend Clarcy Preston.
Visitation will be held on January the 8th from 11:00am-12:00pm at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio with the Funeral services following visitation. Rev. Dohrman Byers will officiate. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio following the funeral.
