Gertrude Bozzo Obituary
She was born in Port Arthur Ontario, Canada, February 27, 1928, the daughter of Andrew Maki and Eevi Koskela.
She was united in marriage to Patrick Bozzo on September 29, 1945, and they celebrated fifty wonderful years of marriage before his passing.
Gertie enjoyed her years spent at home with her family that was the center of her life. She enjoyed knitting, reading, baking, and caring for plants. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, and will forever be remembered for her caring and compassionate ways.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Roger) Walberg, Gordon, WI, Paulette Lach, Superior, WI, Julie (Simon) Dabydeen, Lincoln, NE; son, Terry (Sheila) Bozzo, Sauk Rapids, MN; grandchildren Michelle, Glenn, Brenda, Greg, April, Sunshine, Nicholas, Patrick, Trista, and Briana; step-grandchildren Staci and Jasin; great-grandchildren Chase, Andrew, Sara, Felix, Greta, Nathan, Marisa, Dylan, Sydney, Destiny, PJ, Anthony, Michael, Justice, Kolton, Sam, Mackenzie, Alexis, Joseph, Paige, and Faith; great-great-grandchildren Zion, Aryah and Hazel; and her brother, Roy Maki, Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick Bozzo; infant daughter, Janet; sister, Margaret Buchanan; brother, Ray Maki; parents; sister-in-law, Stella Maki; and son-in-law, Mark Lach.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Villa Marina Nursing home, for the wonderful care they provided Gertie. And a special thank you to Emily and Morgan.
Public visitation will be held at 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior.
A private family Funeral Service will be held. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
