Gertrude “Trudy” Agnes Fletcher

Gertrude "Trudy" Agnes Fletcher, 65, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, surrounded by a large contingent of loving family.

Trudy was born on October 11, 1960, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Charlie Burrus Fletcher and Agnes Catherine Lyons Fletcher.

Trudy attended Saint Francis de Sales Catholic School from 1966 until 1974. She then graduated from Saint Agnes Academy in 1978. She worked at Corebridge Financial (formerly AIG) as a Senior Operations Process Specialist for 39 years before retiring in June of 2025.

Remaining to cherish Trudy's memory are her siblings and their spouses: Kathleen and Ken Martin, Margie Fletcher, Charlie and Christy Fletcher, Eddie and Julie Fletcher, Sandra and Donavan Fritzinger, Melanie and David Ragsdale, and Richard and Lani Fletcher; her nieces and nephews and their partners: Kenny Martin, Krystal Martin, Alex Ragsdale and Beck Buechel, Lauren and Sean Andrews, Kelly and Travis Mayfield, Sydney Fletcher and Jack Taliaferro, Dean Fletcher, Jake Fletcher, Maddie Fletcher, and Camryn Fletcher; and her great-nephews: Russell Andrews and Wyatt Mayfield.

Trudy has been called the "rock" of the extended Fletcher family, a title she earned through years of steadfast love and support for all those close to her. She has been a constant source of joy and care for her entire family, particularly her nieces, nephews, and great-nephews, whom she loved like her own children and who love her like another parent. Her loss is felt deeply by all her kin and will be felt for years to come, especially when we root for any Houston sports team, do any of the puzzles or crafts she taught us, or show up for each other both in times of crisis and celebration.

Welcoming Trudy into heaven are her parents Charlie and Agnes Fletcher. Trudy was a primary caretaker for her mother until her death in May of 2023. Her family expressed their gratitude to Trudy for her dedication to caring for our Mema often, but it could never be enough to honor the magnitude of Trudy's generosity.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church (8200 Roos Road, Houston, TX 77036) on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with Father Wayne Wilkerson officiating. A rosary will precede the service at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Russell Andrews, Sean Andrews, Dean Fletcher, Jake Fletcher, Kenny Martin, Travis Mayfield, Jack Taliaferro, and Michael Towns. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, TX.
