Gianna Iseman Obituary

Visit the Downing & Lahey Mortuaries & Crematory - West Wichita website to view the full obituary.
With profound grief and trusting in God's Will, the family of Gianna "Gigi" Grace Iseman, shares that she passed away on February 15, 2026, at 15 years of age. Though we were only blessed with her presence for a short amount of time, we are confident of the lifelong impact that she had on every person who knew her.

Gigi was the youngest of five children. She was deeply loved by her siblings. She brought much happiness to her family and always brought a spontaneous jovial dynamic to every group she graced. As a bubbly sweet-natured and deceptively shy individual, only her close family and friends knew her to possess a strong personality with the ability to be bravely independent, deeply empathetic, quick-witted, at times sassy, selflessly caring, and keenly perceptive towards the needs of those around her.

A competitive dancer and cheerleader, Gianna spent years honing her craft, pushing herself and working hard to grow in her talents. She was a straight-A student who held high standards to her academic and moral endeavors. She was bound at the hip to her loving mother who championed her extracurriculars and possessed a similarly sweet temperament and love of fashion. In her own words the person she aspired to be the most like was her father who she described as strong and hard-working.

Outside of school and dance, Gianna loved being with her friends, siblings, and cousins. You could often find her walking to Sonic, getting into mischief, listening to music, playing with her dogs, and jumping on the trampoline for hours. She loved the color pink and sought to have most of her possessions emphasize this fact. She shared a similar passion for skincare and cosmetics as well.

Gianna was surrounded by a large and loving family, including 57 first cousins who lived in close proximity and shared many fond loving memories. She was supported also by her parish and school communities of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Bishop Caroll Catholic High school where she thrived during her freshman year.

On her last night with her family, Gianna spent time in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Adoration Chapel with her brother Caleb. The spiritual strength, purity, and numerous virtues that Gianna possessed was an inspiration to all who knew her and it brings comfort to know we have a prayer warrior looking after the Iseman family.

Gianna is survived by her parents, Michael and Janet Iseman; siblings, Julia (Max) Bournos, Joseph (Jordanna Skopp), Isabelle, and Caleb; grandparents, Paul and Judy Iseman, Mike and Mary Ruhl; great grandparent, Velma Ruhl; and a wide community of extended family, friends, classmates, and peers who will sorely miss her and carry her good example daily.

A rosary led by Fr. Aaron Spexarth will be held at 7:30 pm Friday, February 20, 2026, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Cooke at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Services will be lived streamed:
