Gilbert Benavides Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 7, 2011.
Gilbert “Nune Estrada Benavides Gilbert was taken from our lives Sunday August 7, 2011. He was born March 24, 1978 the only son of Gilbert and Leonila “Lilly Benavides. Gilbert touched many lives in his short time here with us. When Gilbert was in the room your smile was from ear to ear or your gut was ready to burst from laughter. He was one of those special people in life and those who knew him were blessed. It didn't matter whether you were his cousin, uncle, niece, nephew or just one of his friends he treated you the same, with nothing but love. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He was always so proud of his three little girls and was so excited to have another little one on the way. Gilbert loved music, he loved to play his guitar and sing for all his family and friends. He also loved his bright yellow truck and could often be seen driving through town playing his music as loud as he could, stopping by everyone’s house just to say hi or ask if you were ok. Gilbert was also very proud of his job as mechanic and took pride in helping everyone out. He loved sports and couldn't wait to see his Dallas Cowboys play every Sunday. He loved playing baseball, softball and took every opportunity to start a team. He never cared how others played he just wanted to play. He also coached girls fast pitch softball and was a proud member of the Greenfield Lions Club. Gilbert you will be missed and remembered forever by all of us. We love you Nune. Gilbert is survived by his wife Veronica Benavides, his daughters Ashlee, Alina, and Aviana Benavides, his parents Lilly and Gilbert Benavides Jr., his sister Belinda Dominguez, his Maternal grandparents Elena and Juan Estrada and Paternal grandparents Flora and Gilbert Benavides Sr. and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is proceeded in death by his Tia Maria "Rosa" Rodriguez and cousin Javier Benavides Jr. Services are under the direction of Chapel of the Roses, Atascadero, CA
