I remember Gil from when he organized the Gallia County Amateur Radio Club in his home and introduced me to the wonders of ham radio. When I was a freshman in high school, he administered the test for my first amateur radio license that resulted in my call letters W8EXX which I still use today. It was this foundation that allowed me to become a successful broadcast engineer and software engineer. Gil was a super nice guy and really intelligent. I am sorry to hear of his passing, but he led a full and productive life.
