Gilbert Hawk Encinias

Gilbert "Hawk" Encinias traded his earthly pain for eternal peace and returned home to the one who gave him life.

Gilbert was a long-life resident of Las Vegas NM, to Donato and Gloria Encinias.

Gilbert left behind the Love of his Life Ciria Encinias, she was not only his whole heart but his whole world. Gilbert made sure he was a good husband to Ciria. They both loved to dance, they were the "Dancing with the Stars" those of you who knew them. Gilbert had a love for basketball with the West Las Vegas Dons, he was an alumni and retired from West Las Vegas Public Schools.

We'll celebrate Gilbert the way he lived: loving his Dons ,Lakers, 49ers, and Greenbay. He loved his trips to the casino, his fast cars, his old trucks, Godzilla movies, old western movies, going to the drive-in, going for drives around Las Vegas and spending time with his family and friends.

Gilbert loved so deeply, he was a gentle giant. He did not have kids of his own but loved all his nephews and nieces as his own. He always made sure they were taken care of. We have so many wonderful memories of our dearest Gilbert, our hearts are broken, and he will be missed immensely. We will keep him in our hearts and keep his memories alive for him.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his father and mother Donato and Gloria Encinias.

He is survived by his loving wife Ciria Encinias of 43 years , his brother Richard wife Janice, nephew Richard(Brianna)(great niece Amiyah, Lyniah, Lysondrah, great nephew Lucas),niece Amanda (Robert)special great niece Shantell, Analiah, Aleyah, Aliana),nephew Michael(fiancé Jennifer)( great nephew Michael Jr. and great niece Alisha), Special Niece/ God-Daughter Amberly(Gustavo)( great- nephew Uriyah), nephew Gabriel(great-nephew Jordan), niece Gloria(Steven)great niece Harmony, Serenity, Honesty and Promise) nephew Marcus, nephew Jonathan(Gabriella)( great nephew Micaiah, great niece Baby Kiarabelle)

Brother Ernest wife Kayleen, niece Athenea(John) great nephew Jayden, niece Shaena(James)(great nephew Demitrius Champ, great niece Aubrey), nephew Ernie( Bianca), nephew Eric(Erica)(great nephew Arian, great niece Baby Luna)

Step-son James(Veronica), step-granddaughter Tasia(Jonh) step great granddaughters Melani and Alanna),Step grandson Anthony, step-daughter Janelle( Ron) step granddaughter Mercedes, )step granddaughter Miranda( Andrew)( Baby Emma) step granddaughter Marena( Dustin), Brother-in laws Felipe and Fernando Flores and all the Flores families. Special Cousin Lorriane Gonzalez and Special Friend/Brother Mike Kavannah.Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and neighbors.

There will be a memorial mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 403 Valencia Street Las Vegas, NM 87701 on Friday October 24th, 2025 at 9:00 am and a burial to follow at the Mount Calvary Cemetery located on Gallegos Rd in Las Vegas, NM.
