Gilbert Florsheim Obituary
Gilbert Florsheim, 90, of Sarasota, passed away surrounded by his family May 18, 2022. Born in Meerholz, Germany December 27, 1931. Gilbert was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 65 years, Aida Florsheim, who predeceased him on October 5, 2021. He is survived by his children, Peter Florsheim and Nan (Steven) Bockler, and his 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Harris, and Zachary Bockler. With a special thank you to his caretaker, Odile, who took care of both Gilbert and Aida with love, dedication and compassion.
In his active years, Gilbert spent much of his time volunteering tirelessly with Temple Beth Sholom, Guardian Ad Litem, SCORE, Doctors Hospital, Designing Women, and Junior Achievement. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20 at 10:30 AM at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery in Sarasota.
