Mr. Gilbert Gray, age 66, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Athens Regional on September 5, 2023.
He was born in Elberton, Ga on February 4, 1957 to the late Mr. William Henry Gray and Mrs. Virginia Mary McCall Gray. He worked in the poultry industry. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Vickie Elaine Gray; children, Gilbert Gray Jr of Danielsville, Carlos Gray (Jalashe) of Royston, Patricia Gray of Elberton, Patrick Gray of Royston and Ty'shun Gray of Toccoa; Siblings, Hilda Teasley of Bowman, Rosalee (James) Patterson of Chicago, IL, Lizzie Mae Thomas of Augusta, and George Gray of Toccoa; 14 grandchildren, special niece Peggy Johnson of Bowman who was raised in the home and nephew Alvin Newsome also of Bowman, grandchildren, Ca'travieon Gray and Alexa Stowers, both raised in the home; godchild, J.T. Shoemaker; Sister in Laws, Sheila McIntosh, Shirley Gray, Alma Maxwell and Doris McCurry of Hartwell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Douglas Leroy Williams, Henry Gray, and Wiley Glen Gray.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Cremation will follow the service per his request.
