Dr. Gilbert Herren

I am deeply saddened to hear about Dr. Herren´s passing. I had the honor of meeting Gil early in medical school in Johnson City, TN. He quickly became a close friend of my then-husband, and their bond lasted through those demanding years. Gil´s unique sense of humor always brightened our days; I fondly remember how our mornings often started with a call from him, full of playful banter with my husband about the day's topics. My heartfelt condolences go to his family-his wife and beautiful daughter whom he cherished so dearly. May you find comfort in the knowledge of what a truly special man, friend, colleague, and doctor Gil was to so many.
