Gilbert Scott Jackson, 74 years old, surrounded by his loving family, received his wings November 7th, 2025. Gilbert was born April 3rd, 1951, in Youngstown Ohio, a son of James E and Clara Perrow Jackson. He was a 1970 graduate of North High School. Gilbert attended and graduated from Lear Siegler Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland, later attending and graduating from Youngstown State University with a degree in Applied Science. Gilbert was employed at North Side Medical Center for over 40 years as a Blood Bank Technician, retiring in 2013.
Gilbert married the love of his life, Patsy A Donald July 11, 1981. To this union two sons, Marcus S. Jackson and Jonathan J. Jackson was born.
Gilbert, also known as Gil, Mr. G, and Mr. Gilbert enjoyed spending time with his family and golfing. Mr. G was also known for hitting golf balls in the yard by his surrounding neighbors. He enjoyed watching sports, and cheering for whichever team was winning. Tinkering with different projects around the house, had become one of his part time hobbies after retiring.
Gilbert was of Baptist Faith, although he was more spiritual lead. Gil always wanted to do the right thing. Gilbert was kind, nice, easy going, cool, and had a sarcastic sense of humor. He was the strength of his family.
Besides his immediate family, he leaves to mourn and cherish his life, brother, Darryl Jackson of New Howland, PA, sister, Michelle McPhatter (Charles) of Woodbridge, VA., two grandchildren, Josiah and Janessa Jackson of Rockville, Maryland (the joys of his life), special cousin, Tracy Jackson, brother-in- law, Charles Donald (Cleone), sister-in- law, Betty McPhatter (Gerald), special friends, Jesse Dukes, Larry Ready, George Austin Sr, and Robert Sims, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Philip Jackson, sister-in-law, Margaret (Peggy) Jackson, mother-in-law, Catherine Leftwich, father-in-law, Jerome Donald, sister-in- law, Mildred Donald.
Per Gilberts' request, there will be no funeral services. The family will honor and celebrate his life on a later date.
