FORT WORTH - Gilbert Ortiz went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, in Mount Olivet Chapel.
Gilbert Ortiz was born on July 22, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the second child of Bennie and Rosa Ortiz. Gilbert graduated from Trimble Tech High School in 1973. He was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church. Gilbert served as an usher for his church like his father before him and enjoyed gardening like his mother.
Gilbert was a great family man and a loving father. He married the love of his life, Guadalupe, on January 15, 2022. Gilbert and Guadalupe were devoted parents to three beautiful children.
He was diagnosed with cancer but fought to overcome it on September 15, 2021.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Rosa; brother, Alfredo; and daughter, Jennifer.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Guadalupe; daughter, Christina; son, Gilbert; and brother, David.
Rest in Peace, Dad, until we see you again.
