Gil was born in Rumford Maine and is predeceased by his father, Bliss Richard; his mother, Amanda Cormier Richard; his twin brother Alfred Richard, who Gil missed every day since his passing. Gil is also predeceased by his daughter, Colleen Richard; step daughter Wendy Shinn Johnson; and step son Gary A. Shinn, Jr.
Gil is survived by his wife of 34 years, Emily (Gore) Richard; his children; Bob Richard (Florida); Eileen Richard (Florida); Sean Richard (FLorida); Charlene Richard (Florida);
his step daughter Brenda (Shinn) Fredrickson (Richard); and Michelle (Shinn) Sonka, (Jeffrey). Gil is survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gil was a US Army Veteran who served in the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post #12173, Tuckerton, NJ
Gil enjoyed kayaking, playing shuffleboard with his Fawn Lakes community and going to the casino in Atlantic City.
Burial will be private and no service at this time.
