Gilbert-Anthony (GA) Rivera, 58, of Odessa TX, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his home in Odessa TX.
GA was born Tuesday, April 26, 1966 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX to Gilberto and LuAnn (Ortiz) Rivera. GA met the love of his life, Joann in elementary school. They married in Odessa on June 23, 1990 where they raised their one and only child.
GA loved to tell jokes and stories whether they were true or not. He loved to entertain everyone by break dance to his favorite song White Horse and doing the robot. GA was also passionate about outdoor cooking, where he loved to smoke meat and make his famous G-Dog Burgers. He was an Industrial Electrician, which was his life-long career.
GA is only preceded in death by his sister DeeDee Rivera.
He is survived by his wife Joann Olivas; son Gilbert-Anthony (Baby) Rivera Jr.; parents Gilberto and LuAnn Rivera; Olivia Esparza; 22 nieces and nephews, 50 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 10 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be his 11 God-children Baldemar Escarsega, Ethan Olivas, Jerek Martinez, Anthony Gabilondo, Milinda Mendez, Wisha Lujan, Meridian Rodriguez, Marissa Ulate, Matthew Ulate, Josie Olivas, and Seleste Zambrano
The family of GA wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the family and friends that helped us.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 5, 2025, 10:00AM to 9:00PM and Sunday, April 6, 2025, 1:00PM to 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home - West Chapel. Rosary will be Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 7:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home – West Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 6, 2025 at 1:00PM at Holly Reedemer Catholic Church.
