DR. Giovanni Alberto Pupillo

DR. GIOVANNI ALBERTO PUPILLO, lovingly known as Gianalberto or Pa; age 83, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024; beloved husband of Stephanie (nee Kemper); loving father of Thomas Pupillo Skals (deceased), Erik Pupillo (Kimberly), Noelle Pupillo Perez (Pedro), Marc Pupillo (Erin), Cara Bickford (Matthew), and Maria Talos (Sebastian); dearest Nonno of Oliver, Francesca, Sophia, Isabella, Emilia, Magnolia, Sterling, Alden, and Baby Pupillo on the way; son of the late Renzo and Maria Pupillo; brother of Celsa Ciaglia, Luca Pupillo, and the late Gianlorenzo Pupillo, former husband of Dianne Pupillo, former parental partner of Henny Jensen Skals (deceased), and beloved uncle, cousin, and friends of many. Dr. Pupillo, a cardiologist who served Grace, Deaconess, and Southwest General hospitals, was the founder and creator of InforMed Centers and Wellnet. He was the first physician in the region of Abruzzo, Italy to successfully oversee the implant of an artificial pacemaker in a patient. Dr. Pupillo wrote and published academic medical textbooks about artificial pacemakers and echocardiograms that were used in medical schools around the world and translated in English, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and Hindi. He also was an active member and former serving President of Casa Italia, Italian American club. A physician by trade, Giovanni Alberto Pupillo's true calling was being a diligent, life-long learner and a devoted, passionate teacher of that which he had studied. He taught all those close to him up until the very, very end. Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption Church, 9183 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. Entombment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
