Giuseppe Di Mercurio, 84 Giuseppe Di Mercurio, 84, husband of the late Angela (Cracchiolo) Di Mercurio, of Gloucester, passed away in the late afternoon of Thursday, August 5, 2010 in the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Giusseppe was born on October 22, 1925 in Terassini, Italy, the son of the late Antonio and Rosa (Moceri) Di Mercurio. His passion was his vegetable gardens, which he tended to for years. He was a fisherman who went ground fishing on many different vessels throughout his life. He spent many summers in Italy with his wife Angela. He was a past member of the St. Peter’s Club. Giuseppe was a good man. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, friend and brother to all and will be missed. He was one of a kind. A quote from his daughter Marianna, regarding her parents; she states, “ I wish someday I could have a third of what they had, their love was so pure.” Giuseppe is survived by his children, Rosa Lucido and her husband Giuseppe of Gloucester, Antonio Di Mercurio and his wife Lisa of Danvers, Peter Di Mercurio and his companion Carlos Borges of Gloucester and Marianna Di Mercurio of Gloucester; four grandchildren, Angela and Letizia Lucido and Angelica and Joseph Di Mercurio, all of Gloucester, two brothers, Salvatore and Vincenzo Di Mercurio of Italy, and one sister, Grace Taormina and her husband Dominic of Gloucester and several nieces, nephews and cousins He was predeceased by his wife Angela, and his two brothers, Francesco and Girolamo. His funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home 212 Washington St. Gloucester on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 10:15a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Ann’s Church, Holy Family Parish at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. Visiting Hours in the Greely Funeral Home will be held on Monday from 4-8 p.m . The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
