Giuseppina Fimmano, 88, of Utica passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at The Pines at Utica Center.
She was born on September 11, 1936, in Villa San Giovanni Reggio, Calabria Italy, a daughter of the late Carl and Elena Giordano. On August 15, 1964, in Italy, she was united in marriage to Anthony Fimmano. This blessed union lasted over 53 years and was characterized by profound love and mutual devotion. Mr. Fimmano passed away in 2017.
Mrs. Fimmano was employed by Joseph & Feiss in Utica, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
She is remembered by her family as a loving and caring wife, and aunt who cherished the time that she spent with her family. Her Italian heritage and traditions were very important to her, and she made it a point to share all of them with many nieces and nephews. She loved to cook and bake, she also enjoyed gardening and playing Michigan Rummy at many family gatherings.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver Emily (John) Kipper, and a nephew, Rocco (Hazel) Fimmano. She also leaves her great nieces and nephews, Amanda (Mike) Forlini, Cassandra (Matt Migliore) Malek. She leaves her great great nieces and nephews, Sofia, Luka, and Leo. She leaves many nieces and nephews in Australia including a very special nephew Nick (Sarah) Barbaro, great nephews Brandon Barbaro and Marco (Noura) Barbaro. She also leaves a Cousin Larry Belmonte & family and her lifelong friends Ralph Cavo and Maria Barile and their families.
She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Francesco Barbaro and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Angela, and Ralph Fimmano.
The family appreciates the Pines at Utica for the care and compassion provided to Giuseppina during her stay.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral services which will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Smith Funeral Home Inc. 3022 Oneida St in Sauquoit. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
