Gladys Gertrude Weaver, affectionately known as "Sunshine," was born on June 20, 1937, in New York and passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 88.

Gladys was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her. She spent her early years in New York, where she embraced life with a zest that earned her the beloved nickname. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her frequent walks, always savoring the fresh air and the beauty of nature.

In her professional life, Gladys devoted many years as a diligent school bus driver, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of countless children. After relocating to Norfolk, Virginia, she brought joy and dedication to her work at the downtown theatre, where she made many friends and countless fond memories.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Harold L. Weaver Jr., and her father, Robert Green.

Sunshine is survived by her loving son, Kevin L. Weaver of Port Leyden, New York, and her son Harold L. Weaver(Rebecca). Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who will always remember her as a source of light and love. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Gloria Martin of Florida, and her brother, Raymond Green of Ballston Lake, New York. Her friend Mary Ann Foster of Chesapeake, Virginia, will fondly remember their treasured companionship.

In accordance with Gladys's wishes, no formal services will be held. Her remains will be donated to science. Arrangements are being handled by Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake Chapel.

Gladys vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
