Glen Norman "Jerry" Gerred, Jr., passed away on July 1, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 67. Born on June 24, 1958, in the same city he called home.
A graduate of Ruskin High School, Jerry carried with him the values and friendships formed during those formative years. He remained connected to his hometown and found joy in its culture and spirit.
Jerry had a lifelong passion for movies and music, often immersing himself in both as sources of entertainment and reflection. He loved dogs, especially his last dog Chewy. He was also an avid sports fan who cheered faithfully for his beloved Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Whether it was football season or baseball season, Jerry could be counted on to support his teams with unwavering enthusiasm.
He is lovingly remembered by his sisters: Linda Scott, Glenda Watts, Mona Chaw (Gary), and Alice Gowler (Randy). He also loved his many nieces, nephews and their children. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Glen, Sr., and Audrey Gerred; his stepfather Dale Beckley, his nephew Donnie Gowler; his brothers-in-law Richard Scott and Hank Watts; his stepbrother Bill Beckley and stepsister-in-law Brenda Beckley, and other loved ones who went before him.
Donations can be made to Kansas City Hospice House.
