Glen Maxfield Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 15 to Feb. 20, 2023.
Glen Edward Maxfield of Edmore, Michigan was born June 14, 1935 in Blanchard, Michigan and passed away February 7, 2023 in Lake Placid, Florida. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 24 years, Julie, whom he loved so dearly.

Glen is survived by his daughter Shari (Chris) Maxfield-Agle and his son Tony (Becki) Maxfield; their mother Carol Maxfield; grandchildren John (Jennifer) Berryhill, Jamie (Jason) Moore, Jason Berryhill, Samantha (Derrick) Davis, and Aubrey (Caleb) Gulick; great grandchildren KC, Carter, Justin, Shea, Jacee, Chloe, Dakota and Blake; and Julie's children LeeAnn Twiss (Mathew), April Keeler (Phil) and grandchildren Derrick, Jullian, Ella and Anna. Glen is also survived by stepchildren David (Chrissy) Sackett, Brad (Becky) Sackett, Chris (Diane) Sackett, Kimberly Chiodo and their children and grandchildren; sisters Grace Scheese and Linda Beardslee, and special friends Lewis and Darlene Main.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Clyde and Gladys Maxfield; his 2nd wife Sharon; sister Virginia Beach; brothers-in-law Jim Beach, Don Scheese, and Leroy Beardslee; nephew Tom Beach; and step son-in-law Don Chiodo.

Glen enjoyed music of all types, dancing, golfing, boating and working puzzles. He loved to visit and could talk for hours. He was happiest when he was cooking for friends and family. Glen farmed for many years, but his lifelong work was owning Maxfield's Restaurant. He could still be seen daily at the family businesses in Edmore. He continued to be involved by running errands and helping wherever he could until he and Julie left for Florida at the end of December. Glen will forever be remembered for his firm, welcoming handshake and the best hugs ever for everyone that knew him. We will miss them so much but are blessed to have received enough to last a lifetime.

By Glen's request, no memorial is being planned at this time. Glen taught us to appreciate every day, so in return we intend to celebrate his life forever.

Corley and I have many fond memories of Glen. My personal favorite is when I was working front desk at the Inn and he brought me a shake and we just talked for an hour about our families while we ate it. He valued his employees. He will be missed!
