Glen, I was shocked a few days ago learning about your passing away. As your poetry reader, I will miss our conversations concerning the poems submitted to Front Porch. You filled a necessary void in my life, and I will miss you. You were a shining soul in a dreary world. May God bless you and keep you in the palms of his hands.

I send my heartfilled condolences to your family.

Peace,
James G.Piatt

Above all the things I did with him, by far his favorite and my favorite was a good old game of chess. We played more times than I could count. I play chess a lot now, and I can think him for that. He was always winning. I can only recall maybe 3 times I beat him.

My favorite memory with Glen was when he and I went to the Casino in Indiana and he kept correcting me on my bets. Which he was right of course. I'll miss that.

sy moskowitz, I was a student in glen's short story course for three or four years. He was an inspired and inspiring teacher. He taught me to be a much more active and close reader of the genre. I especially appreciated the fact that his questions were penetrating and provocative and that he left the answers to each of us. Moreover, he was a gracious and kind human being. He will be sorely missed in my life.

Glen's Monday OLLI short story class, which he coordinated for many years
has made a gift to the OLLI member's fund in his memory.

Glen was a unique intellect; week after week he would, using questions and careful analysis, throw light on difficult short stories. I can't recall an instance when what I understood, after a class, was the same as what I understood before it. Thanks Glen

Glen shared his writing expertise with me and published two of my stories in his excellent journal-Front Porch Review. I am sorry we never met. My condolences to his family and may he test in peace. Michael Ellman

As a member of his short story class for 4 years, I will so miss his wisdom and wit. The class will never be the same. I learned so much from him regarding analyzing a piece of writing and knowing how each word in a short story is so important. He had a great sense of humor as he gently led a discussion. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family. Esther Emmerman
