Glenda Lasley Medford, age 66, of Waynesville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at her home.
A native of Rockingham County, NC, she has been a resident of Haywood County since 1977. Glenda was the daughter of the late James Earl and Gracie Comer Lasley. She is also predeceased by one brother, David Lasley.
Some of Glenda’s most memorable moments include surf fishing with Whitey. She loved gardening and her flowers. She enjoyed canning and would spend lots of time camping. Most of all, her family was everything to her. Her boys and grandchildren brought her the greatest joy and happiness in her life.
Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Whitey Medford; two sons, Taylor Medford, wife Sydney and daughter Olivia; and another grandchild on the way; Travis Medford, wife Jordan and daughter Hallie; two sisters, Brenda Small (Gene), Sandra Garrison (Jerry); one brother, Gary Lasley; two nieces, Cindy Moore (Blake) and Cheryl Small; one great niece, Brooke Hyler.
A Memorial Service celebrating Glenda's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. A Gathering of Family and Friends reception will follow at Wells Events Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
The care of Glenda has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
