URBANA — Glenda H. Smith, age 79, of Urbana, went to be in her Heavenly Home, Sunday, April 25, 2021. She was born on September 6, 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina; the daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Doscher) Jones. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Bernard Smith and daughter, Tami Smith. Glenda is survived by sisters, Andrea Gasho and Kathryn Yeary; sons, Gregory, Ken, and Kevin Smith; grandchildren, Amber Stroup, Randy, Megan, Michael, Chelsea, Dylan, Dillon, Josh, Ashlie, Kevin Jr., Faith, and Sidney Smith; many great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. Glenda retired after many years as a Clerk Librarian at Fairborn City Schools. She was also a founding member of the Light of Christ Lutheran Church. In her free time, she loved to read, especially romance novels. Glenda was always a self-less and giving individual to her family and friends. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 at 12 PM at the Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 48 S 2nd St, Fairborn, OH 45324. Family and friends may visit from 11 AM until the time of service. Glenda will be laid to rest next to her loving husband at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 48 S 2nd St, Fairborn, OH 45324 in memory of Glenda.
